Let’s go outside for a forest walk and think about the gratitude we feel for this land.

Let’s bring the drums for a practice. Meet at 11:40 for drumming! Kahoot in the library at lunch!

Nature Takes Over

Good afternoon everyone,

Return Library Books

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day, and I thought we could show appreciation for our First Peoples by getting out in nature.

Now let’s head outside and I want everyone to take one picture of something they appreciate.

Your task is to write a 10 line poem about this image

Final Inquiry Presentations

Good morning everyone,

Acknowledgment-Lucas

Before we start with the presentations (make sure you have handed in lit review, research, presentation, and anything else on teams) we are going to learn the ‘Coast Salish Welcome Song’.

Originally created by Chief Dan George, from the Tseil Wau-tuth Nations, as a prayer song while he waited for his younger brother to return safely from a hunting trip, this anthem has been gifted to all those living in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish (Kwikwetlem). Depending on who is singing and sharing the song, the anthem may be slightly faster, in a different key, or have a slightly different drum beat.

Mr. Gummow will be here tomorrow for some practice and storytelling, then we will finish our Inquiry presentations.
