*Head’s Up: Poetry Test Wednesday April 14th. Please study the following…
-poetry terms (this should be review)
-rhythm and meter
-Poems: Because I Could Not Stop for Death, My Mistress’ Eyes, Shall I Compare Thee, I Hear America Singing, I Too Sing America, This is America, What Do I Remember of the Evacuation, Caged Bird, Walking on Both Sides of an Invisible Border.
-The test is a mix of fill in the response, short answer, multiple choice, synthesis questions and a paragraph.
-There will be a ‘sight poem’ one that we have not studied in class. This poem will have multiple choice questions and a paragraph response (so you may want to look at the paragraph writing template as a refresher…)
*Silent Reading (20 minutes) do we need time to read still?
You have work to do:
- Some of you are not up to date with your assignments. Please ensure that your Best Wednesday Write, Portfolio, and Novel Background Infograph are complete and submitted on to Teams.
- You have time to work on your Novel Inquiry Project. I have posted it below again just in case:)
Novel Inquiry Project: This is an inquiry based project where you will be making connections between the novel you chose to read with other literature. Please Read the following document:
Planning Sheet: Please hand in your first task of this project by the end of class on Friday April 9th (you will have class time to work on/complete.) The first task is the document below…it is the English 12 Connections Based Inquiry Project Planning Sheet:
Literature and Document Part 1: Due Tuesday April 13th
Literature and Document Part 2: Due Friday April16th
Final Project Due: Monday and Tuesday April 19th and 20th
