Good Afternoon,
The Canadian University Event on Oct.4th from 6-8pm in the Gym.
If you have Leadership students/Athletic Leadership students or any other students who would like to help Ms. Johal and Ms. David that would be great.

*Truth and Reconciliation Assembly:
-Make sure you either wear an orange shirt or wear your green shirt with the button you made in the makerspace.
-chairs set up (check how many we need): approximately 9 chairs (Graydon and Oliver)
-podium from Ms. Chin’s room: Carys and Sarah
-Diego and Veronica do call down announcements
-bottles of water for guests (8) From Tony? Water needs to be placed right beside the chairs.
-greeters to greet guests and guide to gym (V’ni Dansi and Mama Pearl) or take to staff room if they are early: Charlie, Connor, Ava d., Shyla, and Ava T.
*Looking ahead to October: What should we plan and what usually occurs in October?! Spirit Week (dress up: Daily Themes)

*Head’s Up: we are almost done our short story unit…next week there will be a test on the short stories, prose fiction terms (application of terms to stories) and you will have a “sight story” one you have never read before.
Friday October 6th: S.S Test
Tuesday October 10th: Reading Comp.
*Theme and connections: from the synthesis essay assignment, we will brainstorm as a class various themes and the stories that may fit with them.
*Venn Diagram….choose a theme and 2-3 stories.

1) Mr. Angl will visit our class on Thursday September 28th to give a short talk regarding Best Buddies.
2) We need to come up with two activities
a) An Activity in the foyer (9 leadership students) something active like ‘where the wind blows’ or the activity Ava G put together.
b) Getting to know you Questions: You need to create questions so that you can better get to know the students in Best Buddies. This activity will be divided into two rooms (Mr. Angl’s (9 leadership students) and Ms. McMinn (9 leadership Students). Leadership students can rotate between the stations.
