Good Afternoon,

*We will start by looking at No Red Ink.  I have opened a lot of ‘assignments’ for you to work on.  This is for you to practice/review for the provincial exam –so don’t panic that you have to do it all today!

*One Act Plays:  where are we at?  Are you ready to perform??

*Isolation and loneliness:  on a 14*17 sheet of paper, you will draw a chart of each of the following characters and how they represent isolation and loneliness.

-Lenny, George, Candy, Crooks, Curley’s Wife,  Candy, Carlson, slim and the Ranch hands.

*Do you still need more time?

We started the activity of a “One Act Play:  You will have time to work on the creation of your one act play.

-The purpose of this activity is to create an understanding and appreciation by the students of good dramatic literature, play production, and to instruct students in acting.
-Things that students will have to think about: Characterization, Physicality, Voice, Ensemble, Timing, Staging, and Overall Effectiveness.
You will be in groups of three to four…  In your group, you will be create a “One Act Play”.  You must come up with
a) a topic for your play
b) a script
c) rehearse and ‘act’ your play out
d) have fun!
