Inquiry:

A good inquiry question is open-ended, thought-provoking, and requires higher order thinking. It should also be researchable, interesting, and have multiple possible answers. Here are some other qualities of a good inquiry question:

  • Open-ended: It doesn’t have a single, correct answer.
  • Higher order thinking: It requires analysis, synthesis, inference, or prediction.
  • Thought-provoking: It sparks discussion and debate.
  • Points to important ideas: It can lead to important, transferrable ideas.
  • Raises new questions: It can trigger new questions and curiosity
  • Requires support: It requires support and justification, not just an answer.
  • Can be revisited: It can be revisited again and again.
  • Examines “why”: Questions that examine “why” rather than “what” can lead to explanations.
  • Has a clear focus: It requires some focus to allow productive research.
  • Is asked without bias: It’s not biased.

Good Morning,

  1. Spirit Group – Please go over the activities of the spirit assembly with the class, and begin assigning some roles. Here is the document, it needs to hammer out more details today with all logistics

-We will ALL meet in Room 113 (both classes) to go over the plan for the spirit Assembly

  1. Group Switch – Groups 5-10 in Ms. Nelson’s room, Groups 1-4 in Ms. Jeong’s room.

*There are a variety of tasks needed to be done. For instance, if you have an event coming up shortly, which most of you do, you should be creating a timeline of events and identifying all relevant resources needed, including prizes, participant list, equipment list, etc.

*If you are looking for something to do, you can continue working on your video assignment activity.

*A reminder that there is a mandatory rehearsal today at lunch in the gym.
