Friday:

  • you should have the Research sheet done – transfer the information in the form of sentences to the graphic organizer. What quotes/evidence supports your points?
  • we will review a few of the documents listed below (Thursday’s agenda)
  • timeline for turn-in:
    • end of Monday: a decent rough draft
    • Tuesday – first part of class we start the short story unit; second half – first draft of good copy due, use the essay checklist to go over your paper
    • Wednesday, February 14 – print a copy of your essay, have a peer editor or someone read your paper –  editing annotations should be on your paper copy for turn-in on Thursday – second half of class: short story
    • Thursday Turn-in to TEAMS – hand in paper draft with annotations

 

Thursday:

  • get the Research sheet completed
  • start on your graphic organizer – should be completed by then end of Friday’s class
  • rough draft due the end of Monday’s class, February, 12
  • by ‘rough draft’ – I mean as close as possible to a good copy draft; not an outline, not the graphic organizer, not a mesh-mash of notes BUT a solid – got the bones of an solid essay – draft
  • today we will go over – documents in the RED tab:
    • how to write a hook
    • formatting and attribution
    • quote integration
    • chat GPT stuff

Tuesday, Wednesday – February 6, 7

  • discussion of the Pro-article
  • start working on assembling ‘evidence’ and notes on each perspective using the ‘Resources Pro and Con’ document on the RED TAB of the blog
