- Experience the role of an artist as children’s book illustrator

- Resolve creative challenges that arise from a storybook structure
- Create artistic work to reflect story
Lesson #1 – Artists often turn to illustrating children’s books as a way of getting exposure to their art methods and style. Children’s books bring a big audience and good income.
Let’s begin by highlighting our attention to some particularly noteworthy children’s book designs. You are all experts at appreciating children’s book designs in that you all grew up with having read several of children’s books. I’d like you to:
- recall your most favorite children’s book design and
- show examples of its design art for fellow Art 11/12 students to see. If you do not have the book at your place to photo pages of then please image search the book on the internet so that you can share the images on the common chart . Please share details of your selected children’s book by filling in the chart embedded in this blog. It should be writable.

That’s enough work for this lesson. Check back to the document on Tuesday to see all the different books shared by your fellow classmates.
Have a good weekend.
