Custom Paper Mache Award Process

May 20, 2022

This week, I began working on my paper mâché. I made a base out of clay and fired it. I also used newspapers to create the head of my jellyfish. To avoid mold growth, I only add 2-3 layers of paper mâché every day. Next week, I’ll colour the head and make the body for my jellyfish.

I used tin foil and plastic wrap to make the body of my jellyfish. After shaping the jellyfish’s arms with tin foil, I added 2 to 3 layers of newspaper to my paper mâché and coloured all of the parts with acrylic paint. Furthermore, I created the tentacle by painting acrylic paint on top of the plastic wrap and then cutting it.

It is my final week working on the project. Because I finished all of the parts for my jellyfish last week, all I have to do this week is to put them together. My finished product is shown in the far left corner.
