For this project with a partner, we had to plan an eight-day trip to a place chosen which I chose Argentina Buenos Aires, the competency I used for this was communication because I had to connect with my partner and make sure we both agreed on our topic and we were going to present it to our class. Also, we made our presentation engaging for the people watching with images and intriguing. We also had to present the information in a good way so that it was easily understood and interpreted correctly. My partner and I had to use a lot of communication for this project because we had to work together to complete and coordinate while presenting, and planning. I was happy with our presentation and the outcome of the project but I do feel like some parts of the project could use some more details and explanations.
How can knowing first aid help you to think critically in an emergency situation?
Knowing first aid in critical situations is helpful because you could possibly save a person’s life. You would be able to help prevent things from escalating and getting much worse than what already happened. Also, mainly you could also help a lot of other people with these skills and make sure they’re all healthy and safe and get the medical help they need in emergencies.
My new knowledge about health ten is going to benefit me in the future because I will now know how to balance my life with food, activity, and mental health. I will also have knowledge about first aid and how to help people in deadly situations. It also has given me knowledge about relationships with partners which will help me in the future.
One of my learning goals is to learn more in-depth about health and food and looking into how some foods are better than others and how some food gives you energy and just more knowledge about that. I came up with this goal because it just fascinates me how food can do change your mood sometimes and give you energy. I am going to learn more about it soon and do research. What I do when I feel discouraged is think about the results think about how after health class and learning more about it, I can have proper knowledge about it. Some strategies I use when I’m impatient are trying to be present and in the moment and not think too far ahead and I always try to refocus. I made this strategy when I kept on being very impatient and I realized that I need to learn how to be patient and be in the moment and after that it helped me a lot to be more focused and engaged. I started doing this last year which has helped a lot in high school
My learning style is visual, but it was also close to auditory. Some strategies I use when studying new concepts are reading it over then on another piece of paper, I rewrite all the important details and highlight them. My strongest multiple intelligence is body smarts, but I don’t really agree with it and I think I’m more of picture smarts. Body smarts impact my school learning because being more active helps me focus more in school and helps me become a better student when I can multitask and do my work. Knowing my strongest multiple intelligence will now make me take a lot more things into consideration like not sitting around for long periods of time because I get more and more restless. It can help me in the future by knowing how I can be more focused and more successful in school. Something that I learned that gave me a different self-perception was when I learned about what other people go through for example when the black lives matter protests were happening I was never aware of how bad things were for them and how I have such a privilege by something that’s not even controllable. When I learned more about it, I had such a different perception of myself. Something I want to get better at is being more willing to talk to people because I’m not good at that. A strength I have is being independent which helps me in school quite a bit and in my personal life because it means I don’t rely on people too much which also helps me in the working world because I will be able to do things on my own. One goal I want to achieve before I graduate high school is trying to get a higher average in my classes and higher grades so it is easier for me after high school. This will help me get stronger and strengthen my education.
this took a lot of critical thinking because you had to plot the points exactly. I used y=mx+b and normal formatting also y-y1=m(x-x1)because I understood them. for their slants, I used y-y1=m(x-x1) because it was the easiest and it was the most accurate. the challenges I had were using different equations for them and the capital B was difficult. one aha moment I had was with the slants because I knew how to do it but it just didn’t click with me. yes, I got help for the slants. it helped me learn about the slopes and more about graphing them.
we had to find out how tall the flag pole was without actually measuring its hieght 
for my core competencies, I want to write about my all about me project in English. I had to write about a memory I had so I wrote about my last time competing for dance. I thought this suited the communication aspect of it because I had to present it in front of the entire class which i did not enjoy. this helped me grow because I did much better than I thought or expected which was good and helped me grow into thinking that it isn’t so bad. I can further develop my communication competency by learning how not to get so scared anytime I want to present or speak in front of people and get over my stage fright in a way but other wise I like this project and it was interesting to get to know people this way. this is also relevant to growth in personal competencies because I had to learn how to speak in front of people and let them get to know me. even though I didn’t like it at all it was bearable and it really did let me get to know people in my class. this would also help with the social part and let me connect with others in my class that I might not talk to all the time and let me get to know who they are without actually having a conversation. I can further develop my social competencies, by being bolder when I present and not be so nervous socially.
The projects I chose to write about are the movie pitch and the identity project we completed. For the movie pitch, I had to use critical thinking because I had to do a lot of research and I had to find a lot of primary sources which was very difficult. It also took a lot of time for me to finish it because of all the research I had to do and then I also had to make a relevant storyline that made sense to world war 1 which took a lot of time but it was also fun because I really liked my story and thought it was very interesting. I also had to use critical thinking because I had to really think about what research is relevant and what makes sense to put into my story. For the other project which is the identity project, I had to use creative thinking because it was an art piece and I had to make something that described Canada in the 2000s. I came up with some good ideas for it which I liked but I had to paint it and use my creativity to tie all my ideas together. It was pretty easy for me to develop ideas for it because I always had a clue in what I wanted which was helpful. And I really liked this project because I could be creative with it and tie in some of my art skills so this and the movie pitch were probably my favorite projects even though I felt like we needed some more time for the movie pitch
Could there be any form of life on Pluto, My question for my wonder project is could there be any form of life on Pluto, I honestly think there is a possibility that there could be but they would have to be able to live in a very cold climate because it is at least –240 degrees Celsius there, so if any person would want to ever go there to discover anything and to see if there was life, they would need a suite that can keep them very warm because they would otherwise die from the cold. So, if there was any life, they would have to be immune to the cold and they can strive off of it. They could also use their giant 11,000 feet tall frozen glaciers that are made of frozen nitrogen as habitats. And there is probably not a lot of any living things there because the planet is very small, their suite would also need to have more gravity because their gravity is very low on Pluto it is about 0.66m/s. It’s actually very close to the sun even closer than our eight planets so it is surprising that it is as cold as it is.
I also feel like this life form might be unhuman like, maybe it’s an animal because there is no way something humanly could live like that in the cold and how icy the surroundings are and I feel like one day we might discover a being but not with a spacecraft because they did get the first spacecraft to pass by Pluto and was a success and it got a few images, if we ever get a person up onto Pluto they could try to go into the glaciers and get the chance to really look around and try discovering it if there are any life forms on it.
This is more about us getting our spacecraft there. They Sent a spacecraft that went really close to pluto and it was the first spacecraft to ever get that close to the outermost planet in our solar system, so I’m confident that we could get there in the future where a person can actually go up there and discover everything themselves and that they can. Which will help them to see if there is any form of life or any clues that could help lead to something that’s living on Pluto.
They also have giant ice volcanos when they did their fly by spacecraft took a few pictures and in them, you can see that there are also ice volcanoes which would make it harder for any living thing to survive there but there still could be life. This image is Pluto and one of its moon Charon. You can see a lot of its details and is a good image of it. The video I also added I thought it was very interesting because you can see how Pluto’s atmosphere glows and how if there were any living things could use that as a way to hide or they could even live in the atmosphere but were never close enough to see or to tell what’s in Pluto’s atmosphere.
