This month in Foods 11, we learned a lot of new things. We focused a lot on different flour mixtures such as the muffin method, biscuit method, foam cake method and many other different types of methods. These methods helped us make many different baked goods such as carrot muffins, apple strudels, angel food cake and many more. We briefly talked about the functions of each ingredient such as flour, liquids, leavening agents, fat, eggs, sweeteners and flavors. They all play a big part of whatever you are baking because all baked products are made by using a combination of the same basic ingredients. Every week we would make at least 1-2 things, and each time everyone had their own job. Dishwasher, dish dryer, unit manager and special duties. We all made sure we did our job so we could execute our lab well. We have learned many things in this short amount of time but I hope we will soon begin to learn more about cooking instead of baking.
