## Digital Footprint Assignment

There are many ways that your digital footprint can affect your future opportunities. For example, you could be sharing some pictures of the party you went to last night and there might’ve been some inappropriate pictures. You might think its all fun until you go to your job interview or even to go apply for university. They may search you up and see what you’ve done in the past, they might not even consider accepting you but there is a chance they will but from the information I’ve read I wouldn’t take that risk. Another example, when you go online and decide to say something bad about a someone. It may not be a big deal but some universities or work places wouldn’t find it okay. We always make mistake but everyone should always think before they post, they never know if it will affect them in the future.

Describe at least 3 strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

Think before you post, we hear it all the time and you should do it.

Don’t share anything that’s not needed for people to see, these days everyone is posting all about their lives but they shouldn’t. They’re letting the whole world know about their life but they should keep it to themselves.

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

What information I would pass on to other students would be think before you post. Its so important to do so because even hitting that delete button doesn’t mean its gone forever, someone could eventually find it if they wanted to. Technology these days are so complex and powerful so you have to be careful. Even then, you don’t have to be scared. We learn so much about it at school and you’ll learn even more as you grow up. I would tell them in a way that is helpful and try to not make it seem scary.
