Sammy Sperm Story

There is a story about Sperm named Sammy who lives in Testis. One day , Sammy wants to meet a beautiful girl named Ms. Ovum. He went to epididymis first ,and drove to Vas Deferens Highway. Ten days ago, Sammy knew a pretty who lives in a female. When Sammy saw Ms. Ovum’s picture first time, he concluded that she must is his true love. Sammy is one of hundreds millions of sperms. Now he’d decided to meet Ms. Ovum.

He droved car, and passed Vas Deferens Highway. The Lake Bladder which took many memory about his childhood appeared in his sight. Then he arrived Seminal Vesicle Dinner, and had an amazing dinner. It’s time to careered, Sammy and many other sperms were drove passed Highway quickly and careered onto Urethra Expressway. This is the only chance to live entwine with his love, now or never. They got away from  Expressway to Vagina Land. It is amazing but heavy obstacles, it just like a maze. Sammy through here successful, but many other sperms were not lucky like him, they can’t found the to exit or dead in this “maze”. When Sammy through Vagina Land, she got into a beautiful place named Uterusville. There is a big castle, and it was no one lived here. Here is comfortable and romantic, it is the best place to be a cozy home and lived here with plus one forever. Finally, Sammy found his true love in Oviduct Road. He was the first sperm who was try to met Mr. Ovum. They soon went into that castle and live together. After 10 months, they leaved Uterusville and became a human.

In the living cell, DNA undergoes frequent chemical change, especially when it is being replicated (in S phase of the eukaryotic cell cycle). Most of these changes are quickly repaired. Those that are not result in a mutation. Thus, mutation is a failure of DNA repair.

Here is a story about a patient of achromatoblepsia. she named Heather.

My name is Heather and I’m a rod monochromat, and have Incomplete Achromatoblepsia. My parents first noticed my vision problems when I was a baby and I’d always stare at the sun, which was most likely the only thing I could see on a bright sunny day. So my mom put large brimmed bonnets on me. I would also squint in bright light and the nystagmus was apparent early on too.

After learning to walk I would often run into glass windows and doors that lead outside. I’d trip over curbs and cracks. And of course I couldn’t learn my colors. So my parents were told to go to a specialist in Kansas City, MO and at age 3-4 I was diagnosed with “Cone dystrophy”, which years later I realized after further research was a broad diagnosis, and that I was in fact an Achromat.

1.What is achromatoblepsia?

Achromatoblepsia is a medical syndrome that exhibits symptoms relating to at least five conditions. The term may refer to acquired conditions such as cerebral achromablepsia, also known as color agnosia, but it typically refers to an autosomal recessive congenital color vision condition, the inability to perceive color and to achieve satisfactory visual acuity at high light levels (typically exterior daylight). The syndrome is also present in an incomplete form which is more properly defined as dyschromatopsia. It is estimated to affect 1 in 40,000 live births worldwide.

2.What symptoms of achromatoblepsia?

Achromatopsia is the inability to see color. In the most severe form of the disease, called complete achromatopsia, the patient cannot see any color at all. Incomplete achromatopsia is a milder form of the disease where the patient has impaired ability to see color rather than a complete loss of color vision.

Other vision problems may also occur, and these can vary in severity among patients, depending on whether the patient has complete achromatopsia or incomplete achromatopsia. These symptoms may include blurred vision, nystagmus (involuntary eye movements, such as shaking or wobbling), or photophobia, which is a heightened sensitivity to light that may cause discomfort or pain.

Achromatopsia is considered a non-progressive disorder, meaning symptoms do not become more severe over time.

DNA Bracelet

Guanine-green, Adenine-orange, Cytosine-purple, and Thymine-pink.

This is my DNA fruit loops bracelet. we had four letters: Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine and Thymine. We chose a word that represented us and found the matching DNA sequence, then we used fruit loops to made a “Bracelet”.

Edible DNA Model

  1. What is DNA. Describe it’s structure.

DNA is a molecule that carries most of the genetic instructions used in the development, functioning and reproduction of all known living organisms and many viruses. DNA is a nucleic acid; alongside proteins and carbohydrates, nucleic acids compose the three major macromolecules essential for all known forms of life.

2. Explain what each of the following model pieces represents: licorice, marshmallows( green, yellow, pink, orange), toothpicks.

Licorice: Sugar and phosphate.

Marshmallows: Adenine (yellow), thymine(orange), cytosine(green), and guanine(pink). Yellow marshmallows were pair with orange marshmallows and green marshmallows pair with pink marshmallows. That meant adenine pair with thymine and cytosine pair with guanine.

Toothpicks: Steps of the ladder which are the paired nitrogen bases.

3. Yes. Because this model is looks like DNA, it helps me to learn DNA’s structure.

Expanding Universe

1. Explain what the balloon + dots represent.

The balloon represent the universe, and dots are represent which galaxies are moving farther and farther.

2.Which letter (s) moved the farther from M? Which moved the least.

The dots are closet from neck that are moved least, and the stars that farthest from neck is moved farthest.

3. Summarize the trend: movement of galaxies related to distance from M.

All of galaxies are moving farther and farther form M when the universe is expanding.

4. How does this experiment model what is occurring in our expanding universe? In what way does a balloon Not represent the universe.

This experiment model show that universe is expanding and, galaxies are moving farther and farther each other as universe expands. The balloon might pop, but universe not. The second, the one of endpoint of balloon is not expanding so fast like other part.

how electricity is transmitted to your home

Water  has  a potential energy, as water falls down the penstock, the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, which is used to rotate the blade in turbine.  When the turbine starts to work, the kinetic energy becomes mechanical energy as the blades are rotating, and also activates the generator, thus the mechanical energy finally is converted into electrical energy.

The electric energy pass grid high voltage transmission line to terminal station, some for electric energy pass subtransmission lines. These energy can be sold transmission voltage to users of large amounts who own and operate their own substation. The other part of electric energy are through distribution substation to our home.

     how this transmission process work

The hydroelectricity dam mad water fall down, and the potential energy change to kinetic energy.

Hydroelectric-generator

Generators usually produced electricity with a low voltage, the low generator voltage is increased to a higher transmission voltage by a step-up transformer. When the electric energy arrive the terminal station, it would divide in two ways, one way is to customers, another way is to commercial, and small and medium industrial customers.

science APP review

This APP named ” The Chemical Touch”.

mzl.wwpdtrup

Explore the properties of the elements and the standard amino acids with The Chemical Touch. A touch sensitive periodic table on one side and amino acid companion on the other, The Chemical Touch provides a wealth of information right at your fingertips. In addition to atomic mass, properties such as the density, melting point, boiling point, atomic radius, and electronegativity can be selected to recolor the periodic table to display trends in these common properties. Having exhausted the displayed information, click the internet button to see the Wikipedia page for the selected element or amino acid.
