See a Penny, Pick it Up…

In this essay, the author compares pennies that she finds on the ground to her life experiences and the people she has met along the journey. She portrays how even though not all of the pennies are pretty or aesthetically pleasing, we shouldn’t take these moments and turn them into negative forces. Every penny, every event, every person we meet along our journey is going to reveal new experiences whether they’re good or bad, this is what makes us who we are. This essay is interesting to me because as I was reading it, the content really opened my eyes to see that there is more to life than wonderful experiences. This essay opens up your eyes to see the reality, and I like how the author keeps an optimistic attitude throughout the essay. As I was reading some of her experiences that she used as examples, I was able to connect them to some of my own experiences that did not end up being ideal to me, which really drew me into the essay. I also thought to myself how I could look back on some of those experiences and turn them into learning experiences rather than just bumps in the road.
