The burning of the Whitehouse was during the War of 1812… If you’re comparing that to the attack on the Montreal parliament buildings, those two events are quite different. One was during a war where you’re attacking the enemy, the other was a political party angry with a government decision.
Good points about Durham not being the first to recommend responsible government.
Julia, you need to be more specific with your historical examples.
