Monday- Paragraph Revisions

  1. Do the following No Red Ink exercises: Pruning the Deadwood and Avoiding vagueness.
  2. Choose your BEST paragraph to revise using the academic writing criteria. Refer to your integrating quotations handout for guidance on inserting quotes.
  3. Add a works cited: https://www.mybib.com/tools/works-cited-generator – be sure you state it is a book in MLA 9 AND you get the right publisher/ version.
  4. Do the revisions you need.
  5. Hand in BOTH of your paragraphs on TEAMS
  6. Print your revised one for Tuesday’s class.
  7. When complete, work on your Thought-Box or read!

Friday, April 26th, Monday, April 29th, Tuesday, April 30th

  1. Paragraph #2- choose the paragraph prompt from this week’s assignment, or next week’s assignment.
    1. email me the draft at the end of the block
    2. Finish paragraph #2 over the weekend IF you do not finish in class today
    3. Monday- choose ONE paragraph you think shows the most insight, depth, and your best writing
    4. Do No Red Ink-
    5. In class, revise for academic writing, MLA formatting, grammar, sentence combination, word choice, strength of evidence and thesis
    6. Add the Works Cited
    7. Hand in BOTH paragraphs on TEAMS
    8. On Tuesday- print your best one and put in my hands at the beginning of class. 
  2. Tuesday- Final Discussion and reflection in the Learning Log
    1. #Boss will facilitate the discussion and the meeting notes. You do NOT have to do the Google research or the Deep Questions or AWOKB. You DO have to record it.
    2. Other groups- you are to discuss the final questions and do the learning log only.
