Miss Ralston

The children are at war with each other, and there is only one person who has final say. Miss Ralston. In the Friday everything changed by Anne Hart miss Ralston is a respected, fancy and strict. In a one room school house, the boys have always held the higher power in the school. They get the best magazines, carrying the water back to the school house and the best positions in soft ball. While the girls got the second best. The boys have had the best for too long. The girls are standing up for themselves, but not. Without miss ralston. The boys are stronger and faster, but when Alma asked Miss Ralston, “why can’t the girls go for the water too?” (P.5) miss Ralston has something to think about. Miss ralston understands that saying the girls can go get the water well give the girls respect from the boys. The boys are not going down without a fight and miss Ralston knows that she is going to have to step in before someone gets hurt. Miss Ralston is not your normal teacher. She is smart, tough and respected for strapping the boys in front of the whole school. She has a lot to think about, let the girls cary the water or let the boys keep the higher power. It was her decision to give the girls a chance to prove that they are worthy. The girls are now equal to the boys thanks to Miss Ralston, and her stature in the school house.
