part 2 of video (non animated part) – script
And Newton’s third law states, “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. how is this used in real life? when Bobby accelerates at a fast rate and hits the old ladies car, bobbies car gets hit with the same amount of force that he hit her car with. The only problem is Bobby wasn’t wearing a seatbelt therefore when his car got hit, bobby continued to accelerate forwards at the same rate as before while his car stayed in place, he continued moving till he hit the old woman’s car. Which is the first law. The first law states, “ an object will remain at constant velocity unless acted on by an unbalanced force”
Sadly bobbies flesh couldn’t handle the force and he died. On the other side of things, the grandma was wearing a seatbelt, therefore when her car hit bobbies The force caused her car to stop . Since grandma was attached to the car by the seatbelt, she stopped with the car instead of continuing to move as Bobby did. Grandma was safe and followed the rules by wearing a seatbelt so now she can feed her cats for another day. Bobby on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky.
The second law states,”The rate of change in an objects velocity is directly proportional to the net force and inversely proportional to the objects mass”. Because Bobby’s car was larger and accelerating at a higher force, as his car hits the grandmas smaller car, The grandmas car will feel a bigger force of impact and be pushed back farther than bobbies car will. Thankfully the grandma had her head rest set on a safe setting or else her head would have whipped back due the force pushing her backwards causing whiplash and other serious injuries!
I hope Bobbies memory will help you learn to follow the rules on the road, stay safe kids it’s dangerous out there because even if you follow the rules other might not..but following the safety rules can raise your chance of survival by 60%
