Lit Circle Discussion # 2 & Rhetoric-Online Class

Good morning everyone, here is the plan for today’s online class,

Discussion #2-because I was using the ‘scheduling a meeting’ option on teams, I was only able to do 30 minute time slots.  Bosses, please gather your group together about 10 minutes prior to your time, and I will jump in when I see the meeting has started. Please ensure everyone has uploaded their work so I can see what you are talking about.  You should be discussing for at least 30 minutes, but feel free to keep talking as long as you like.

Red Rising: 9:00-9:30

Son of a Trickster: 9:30-10:00

Moon of the Crusted Snow: 9:30-10:00

Fight Club: 9:50-10:20

Fahrenheit 451: 10:00-10:30

Back of the Turtle: 10:30-11:00

While you are not in discussion:

What is ARISTOTLE‘S THE RHETORICAL APPEALS (RHETORICAL TRIANGLE) – The Visual Communication Guy

  • how does this apply to our readings? Which part of the triangle is engaged more in literature? Which part is engaged in the video we just watched?
  • Reflection #2- Now that you have an understanding of Aristotle’s rhetorical triangle, respond in your reflection about your protagonist’s experience thus far.  How do they demonstrate or lack one or more aspects?

Watch this video:

Think of a time when you convinced your parents to buy/do something for you.  Would they have done the same thing for a neighbour?
Meeting Notes #2 when discussion done

Poetry Writing Workshop

This is the schedule for Wednesday, March 10th Cohort!

  • Silent reading!
  • Caged Bird and Extended Metaphors Continued

After you have worked on your own you will add to the T Chart here.

We will be working on these elements with the help of these images to develop a story, pull out emotions, and practice making our own extended metaphor.
