WEEK 3 in Precalc 11

This week in math 11 we learned about absolute values. The technical definition of an absolute value is; the principal square root of the square of the number. Another way to say it is that it’s the distance from zero.

With absoulte values the distance will always be positive and the answer inside the braces will always be positive.

Also remember that that there is always two answers when you square root. A positive and a negative but, the positive answer is known as the principal square root. But like I stated before, absolute values will always be postive. For example:
