Socials Confederation Reflection

1. What colony did you represent?

I represented The Province of Canada, East Canada.
2. What did you feel were the biggest or most important  issues for your colony?

We wanted a governKent which compensated for the size of our colony which was over 4 times larger than all the other colonies together. We wanted for it to be fair to us because we had such a large and diverse population and wanted everyone to have a say and their own independent thoughts and opinions.
3. What strategy did your group come up with to deal with those issues?

We wanted representation by population and to split the Province of Canada into four and have the other colonies combine into one to even out the population and have equal voting and be fair to all places.
4. Did you have to make any concessions during the negotiation phase? If so, what agreements or concessions did you come up with?

I negotiated with PEI and we worked out French as the second language, generalized curriculum, same currency, and to not have  the Province of Canada adopt their debt.
5. Were you happy with the outcome of the confederation debates?

I was pretty happy with the outcome although i wish we got the vote for either representation by population or land expansion because those were some of our main and crucial points we wanted.
6. What is one thing you wish had happened differently with the final results and why?

Like I previously said one thing I wished would of happened differently is probably the passing of land expansion because it would of benefited not only use but all colonies greatly. Or the name of our currency.
