20th Century Genocide

  The Guatemalan Genocide began in 1984. It was the Guatemalan government against the Mayans. The Mayans wanted more equality towards their language and culture, but the Guatemalan government didn’t want them to have any sign of power. A civil war started between the two, once the Guatemalans attacked a nearby Mayan village. The village was destroyed, along with many of the villagers killed or captured.
