FISHING AND ENVIRONMENT 11
COURSE CODE: YLRA-1F
This new course is designed for those interested in fishing, fly fishing or taking care of the environment. You will study the relationship between fish and the world. Learning is divided between the classroom and the outdoors. Regular field trips to local natural places make theory and written assignments alive, literally. This course teaches you how to fish, how to take care of the environment so you can continue to go fishing, and you get to learn how to fish for different species. You will have a chance to make your own flies or lures and even fishing nets. A suggested fee may be required for certain activities like camping, special build projects, or acquiring your boating/fishing license. Safety and sustainability will always be the priority. We will explore fishing and sustainability in local areas such as the Coquitlam and Fraser River.
