IT Peer Tutoring 10 and is a personalized learning environment where students will develop technology based skills to help support their peers, teachers and others in the Riverside community. The primary goal of this course is to provide students with a foundational digital skill set to become digitally literate citizens, and have these students provide support and training to staff, students and the community regarding digital literacies, and the importance of leaving a positive digital footprint to enhance and strengthen the digital culture at Riverside. Furthermore, students will be provided opportunities to actively engage, mentor, and educate our students, staff and community on various topics related to becoming a digitally fluent community. This course is taken outside of the timetable and is a combination of face to face learning and inquiry based projects.

IT PEER TUTORING 11 (TECH TEAM)

This course is a continuation of the skills practiced in IT Peer Tutoring 11. There is an increased expectation for involvement and taking on responsibility with course activities, as well as a focus on developing problem solving techniques with students learning multiple strategies including: identification of the problem, analysis of possible solutions, implementation of a solution and test/review.

This course is a continuation of the skills practiced in IT Peer Tutoring 11. There is an increased expectation for involvement and taking on responsibility with course activities, as well as a focus on developing problem solving techniques with students learning multiple strategies including: identification of the problem, analysis of possible solutions, implementation of a solution and test/review.

In this independently directed studies course (taken in addition to a regular course load) students will earn credit for volunteering 40+ hours of service, participating in classroom learning, doing weekly inclusive practices, as well as organizing and leading impactful, altruistic group projects. This class happens off-timetable (outside of the regular schedule). A successful student will want to make positive changes in the school/community, take initiative, self-direct and self-manage, is inclusive, and communicates frequently and effectively with peers.

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore and develop their leadership skills. Students will learn leadership traits and be expected to demonstrate their capacity by organizing and leading various classroom, school, and community events. A strong focus is placed on personal growth and self-reflection. Other skills that will be a focus are ethical decision-making, teamwork, inclusion, communication, public speaking, time management, and organizational skills. Emphasis is also placed on service within the school and in the community, which includes 10 hours of volunteering outside of class time.

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore and develop their leadership skills. This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore and develop their leadership skills. Students will learn leadership traits and be expected to demonstrate their capacity by organizing and leading various classroom, school, and community events. A strong focus is placed on personal growth and self-reflection. Other skills that will be a focus are ethical decision-making, teamwork, inclusion, communication, public speaking, time management, and organizational skills. SOCIAL DYNAMICS IN TABLETOP ROLE PLAYING GAMES 11
COURSE CODE: YIPS-1B

Social Dynamics in Tabletop Role Playing Games is an optional course that focuses on friendship, leadership, and mental well-being as students engage in games like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Polaris, Starfinder, and more. Although the focus of the course is on peer interaction, participants will also design adventures, characters, monsters, and encounters as well as learn the basics of 3d printing, painting, map production and other design elements. There are no foundational courses needed for this course.
