Open in new tab My poem is named river, the type is lyric. When I saw the topic of the presentation, I thought about the river in my hometown. My hometown is near the sea, and the river is through the city into the sea. The part of the river that goes through my grandma’s village is a small stream, but it can cross the mountain. so I used personification to describe some people who never give up and try their beat to achieve their dream, it is also my theme of the poem.
About poetry devices, I use personification : “River river singing ringing song.” “you work hard to achieve your dream.” “be brave to face the storm” , assonance :”barren land”, repetition: “river river ” Rhyme：“ Your goal is getting into the sea You work hard to achieve your dream” I used rhyme because I think it can make my poem more catchy and it’s easy to get listener’s attention.
The idea of the poem is to cheer up the people who is at the bottom of life or who keep going to achieve their dreams, I hope we can be brave to face the setback , work hard like the river and believe the dream will come true one day.
