Where does one find beauty in the face of extreme conflict?

One can find beauty in the face of extreme conflict by focusing on the things that make them happy and sharing them with other people.

“The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak is about a little girl named Liesel who is trying to hold on to the innocence of her childhood in the midst of the Nazi Regime. Her foster family is hiding a Jewish man named Max. Her foster dad, who has formed a close relationship with her, decides to teach Liesel how to read in secret. Liesel then begins stealing books that the Nazis are trying to destroy, and she strives to share the power of language with Max. I think this represents a good response to the inquiry question and also references my own answer to it.
