CC Self Assesment

I have grown to not rely on others for basic problems like I did in grade 11. Last year I was surrounded by a lot of people that understood each concept better than me, and every time I had a question, I would just ask them instead of at least trying to figure it out myself. It worked for me last year, but it is definitely not working in chemistry 12. After a while I realized that I couldn’t rely on others to get a good mark, so I try to do every problem myself and if I really don’t understand it, then I ask someone who does.

The thing I found more challenging about chemistry 12 is that it has a lot more theory based questions than I was expecting. I was more used to doing more math-type problems, which is still here but I just find the theory aspect really confusing.

The obvious answer is to just study more and focus hard on the lessons, but I just want to focus more on the math side since that is what I’m better at. I just can’t bring myself to learn all of the theory when I can just improve my math and just rely on that to carry my tests.

Since chemistry 12 is harder and requires more work than chemistry 11, I had to learn to manage my time better and really make sure I understood each lesson. Even though I am not getting the best marks, I am still learning either way. I can say I manage my time a lot better this year than I did last year, and while it might not show for this class it’s showing in my other classes such as pre-calculus, in which I have an A.
