Here is my coaching career path
On your blog, you will do a post demonstrating your understanding of the requirements for graduation.
Replace the blank lines (with instructions) with the appropriate information.
You can use the PowerPoint and document I showed you earlier in the semester to find this information. It is in the password area of the blog.
Reminder: Course credits are only earned on classes that are Grade 10 level and up. You only earn credits if you pass the course.
• Title: My Graduation Plan
• Category: Planning 10
Fill in the info below, then copy and paste it into the body of your blog post:
1. Healthy Living
a. This year, I am playing hockey, soccer and baseball inside and out of school and I’m also in PE 10 to meet DPA requirements (150 mins/week of moderate to vigorous physical activity).
b. Next year, I will continue to play hockey, soccer and baseball and I will also take PE 11 to meet DPA requirements.
c. Other than physical activity, I will also need a concrete plan for healthy eating, stress management and physical activity in order to lead a healthy life after graduation.
2. Course Credits
a. I need 80 credits to graduate. A typical course is worth 4 credits.
i. 48 of them must be from required courses.
ii. 28 of them must be from electives.
iii. 16 of them must be from Grade 12 courses.
b. At the end of this year, I will have 40 credits.
3. Community Connections
a. I need 30 hours of work/volunteer experience. To show I completed this, I must show proof in the form of a pay stub or reference letter.
b. I can start accumulating these hours in Grade 10.
c. My plan to earn work/volunteer hours is through getting a job soon and volunteering at the rink downtown.
d. I will also need to complete a reflection that includes what you did, how you benefitted from this experience, and what skills you developed while volunteering or working. It will be 200 typed words minimum.
4. Career and Life
a. In addition to updating my resume, I will also create post-secondary plans and a financial plan to show that I have a plan in place after graduation.
b. When I graduate, my current plan is to get a part time job and go to college and then university .
a. To prepare for the interview, I can look at the questions ahead of time. They are found on the GT website.
b. My interview will be with a riverside staff member (my rap teacher).
6. The 3 people at Riverside who are here to help with this process are:
c. My counsellor
In Grade 12, I will find all the necessary documents AND submit them on the GT website.
I will complete Grad Transitions 12 whenever I have English 12. If I have it in 1st semester, I must complete everything except the interview before the sale of winter ball tickets In 2nd semester, everything except the interview must be completed before the end of April
This is my digital autobiography about different events and people that are important to me
Three things I will do to stay safe at work is, ask questions if I don’t know something. If the workplace is unsafe then inform my employer/ supervisor and stay away from unmarked chemicals. Two things I will do to keep others safe is help them with anything their unsure about and keep the workplace safe and clean
Mattew’s story resonates with me the most but my dad is a chef and I couldn’t imagine him having a serious accident at work. I learn that every has the right to safe work and not to be afraid of speaking up and hopefully prevent a injury for you or another coworker
