Racism has defiantly improved over all this time, but it is not even close to being gone.  Although slavery in the United States ended in the 19th, black people had very limited to no rights and were treated with no respect. In the mid-20th century, blacks were still forced to use separate public utilities and schools from the superior ones reserved for whites; the blacks even had to move seats and stand at the back of the bus if a white person wanted to sit down, until people like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King J. and many other people and organizations started to fight for what they believe in.

Over time racism has gotten much better. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned discrimination and segregation on the basis of race, religion, national origin and gender in the workplace, schools, public accommodations and in federally assisted programs. There were and are many organizations and people in the world that were or still are fighting for equality between people with different color skin. Like Martin Luther King J. who dedicated his life to the nonviolent struggle for racial equality in the United States.

In my opinion, even though there are so many organizations fighting against racism, there is still so much racism in our world. It is still all over the world, whether people are just thinking about it or talking about it on social media. I think that even though racism may stop in the future, we will never forget it and it will always be a part of our past.
