Food and You

Food that you would wish to eat every day

Isn’t it a great feeling when you feel like you are back home in a cozy wood house in the forest with the fire set up to warm your little cheeks that’s the feeling I get whenever I visit HAAN “한 바베큐”  gives me happiness and it calms me down. the place is gorgeous the wooden chairs, walls and the BBQ tables are everything you will wish in a place to have a great meal at.

HAAN’s service is great you enter their restaurant, the chief and the other waiters welcome you as they show you the way to your table. Everyone is nice and cooperative with each other; the workers are so lively, cheerful, energetic, and fun to be around. Makes you feel jealous of how close they look and how they treat each other.

The food at HAAN goes beyond your imagination the waiter gives you the menu, you choose what you would want to eat, choosing between all the delicious food is hard because they all look, smell and taste good.

One of the most delicious foods you would want to choose is “생갈비” Saeng Galbi means fresh beef ribs. The most exciting part is that YOU GET TO GRILL YOUR own food!! You select the type of meat from the menu and grill the meat on the BBQ table, it gives a great feeling while you are at it the smell of the red meat makes you want to eat it as soon as possible. Banchan dishes *Korean side dishes* that you get make you feel like you are in heaven. When finished grilling, it tastes much better with Banchan sides like lettuce, kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled radish and some spiciness.

Another dish you would want to try is “비빔밥” Bibimbap meaning “mixed rice” it contains; White rice topped with Namul, Gochujang, soy sauce and doenjang other side toppings are Beef, Raw/fried Egg, Kimchi and Vegetables.

HAAN is not like any other restaurants where you leave with the scent of the food not even the smell of BBQ or the food itself. The price is affordable and it’s worth a try for anyone who hasn’t tried Korean food.

HAAN is a great place for people who are trying something new and many people start liking Korean food!! Will you be up for the challenge and try some Korean food for a new change and possibly grow to love Korean food.

First they came for…

Adapted from  the poem by Martin Niemoller “First                                                                                                   They Came for the Jews” in response to the poem “Danger of Silence”

First they came for…. (rewrite your poem)

First they came for the Animals
and I did not speak out
because I was not an Animal.

Then they came for house pets.
and I did not speak out
because I was not a house pet .

Then they came for animals in labs
and I did not speak out
because I was not an animal used in a lab

Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.
