1) What is a storyboard?
– A storyboard is a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence
– Began in the form as we know it, 1920s, Walt Disney Company used for animated films, “Steamboat Willie” and “Three Little Pigs”

– “Gone with the Wind” (1939, live action, 3h58min, Director Victor Fleming, tangled love affair during the Civil War, based on the southern USA)

– Actually called “technical previsualizations”
– Most storyboarding is done on 3D programming now (better idea of depth and angles, more time to create)
– Storyboarding is an essential part of the creative process of creating a comic strip, film, advertisement or book.
– Advantages: saves time, money, creates thought and conversation, brainstorm ways to create plot and filming aspects,
