Week 11 in pre-calc 11

This week in pre-calc we learned a new way to graph quadratics and linear equations using one and two variables. If it only has 1 variable that means you can only graph along the x-axis. If it has 2 variables you can use both x and y. To start you must first faxtor the equation, then you have to graph it. Once you’ve graphed it you have to decide whether it has a dotted or solid line. If its solid that means < or equal to and > or equal to. If it has a dotted line it mean < or >. Next you have to shade the proper side by choosing a test point. The best point to choose is (0,0).

Week 5 Blog Post

This week in Pre-Calc we re-visited factors and learned about solving quadratic equations. With quadratic equations, the equation must equal zero to proceed. If it does not initially equal zero you MUST make it equal zero. The easiest ones to do are the difference of squares and the hardest ones are the ugly ones.

 

This is an equation that had to be changed to zero, because it didn’t originally start out as equalling zero. Once changed there were zero pairs turning the trinomial into a binomial. Then you had to find something common, then determine the X’s

Taming of the Shrew Stop Motion Induction Scene Project

In the play “Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare a man named Christopher sly goes to a bar and orders a drink, then another one, and another he drinks until he gets drunk. He then passes out on the floor of the bar. A lord and his huntsman walk into the bar where sly passed out and the pick him up and carry him back to the lords castle. The huntsman and the lord come in and pick sly up to pull a prank on him. They bring him back to the castle. The lord plans a prank to trick sly into thinking he is the lord. They also hire a boy to dress up as a lady and pretend to be sly’s wife. When he wakes up he believes he is the lord. Then sly tells all the men to leave. The travelling play performers come to the door and ask to stay over, the play people come and get Page. They ask if they can perform for them. Then the people start to preform there play, “Taming of the Shrew”. In the play a father tries to find a wife his eldest daughter but she’s a shrew. All the men in the town want to wed the youngest daughter, Bianca. But since no one likes the eldest daughter, the father declares that the youngest can’t get married until the oldest does. The rest of the play continues the story.
We (Anna and Kaitland, Rylee) learned that stop motion is pretty difficult and a little frustrating because you have to move the little pieces and balance them. We also learned that you should mark where your pieces are each time you move. And the faster the video is the better the finished project looks.

 

Take your kid to work day- small description

I went to a curling club to make ice with my friends dad. This was a very difficult job to do and it takes dedication and the skill to be very precise. Mikey gets up everyday at 4-6 am to make the ice perfect for all the curlers. He works every couple hours each day to clean the ice every time the curling team finishes curling. He takes about 1-2 hours to do it because he takes the time to make it perfect. He also waits around to make sure all the curlers are happy.
