I really enjoyed the Dead Poets Society. Analyzing “O’Captain, my Captain” and “O’Me, O’Life” afterward made the movie even better in my mind because I was able to understand the themes and messages on another level.

The identity unit opened my eyes to all the different kinds of people in the world and the challenges we face as a society. I feel that I’ll be able to better understand the people around me and ultimately have stronger relationships.

In terms of grammar, I solidified my prior knowledge of semi-colon/colon use and dialogue. More importantly, I noticed a big improvement in my ability to expand on my thoughts. After reading over some of my grade 10 assignments, I can conclude that I’m getting better at explaining myself instead of writing one big complicated sentence and leaving it at that.

Overall, it was a productive semester!
