Science- lab- observing cells

1. Using your sketches and the photos you took of your plant and animal cells, explain:
a. What do animal cells look like under the microscope? What cell structures are visible?  Plant cells seem to be connected and in a puzzle sort of order connecting together looking sort of like potatoes.
b. What do plant cells look like under the microscope? What cell structures are visible?  Animal cells look sort of like flakey skin without a connection to eachother sort of going freely on their own not connected with a group
2. How can you tell plant cells and animal cells apart (if you only see them under the microscope)? Visually they have many differences, the animal has sort of flakes and the plant has none and is rounded.
3. We used methylene blue on the animal cell. Why was it important to treat animal cells with this compound? Why didn’t we use it on the plant cells? Without it you wouldn’t be able to see the cells properly and it gives a better view to see the,.
4. Reflection: What did you learn while doing this lab? What questions arose while doing this lab? What are you curious about? The lab taught me about the visual components that are with cells and how to differenciate them.
