My environmental interactions

How you do things throughout your life and throughout your average day tend to have an impact on the environment, big or small, positive or negative. For every time you go to the washroom, and every time you print off a worksheet it effects the environment. I will now describe one of my average days, to show my environmental decisions and the impact I make.   To start off my day I will go to the bathroom. That will equal about 6 liters of water…

Artifacts of Learning, Engineering Brightness Reflection

During the past month in my science class, we have been working on a project called Engineering Brightness. This project is about light poverty in the Dominican Republic, and how some people have only up to three hours of electricity today. It makes life extremely difficult for the population. We as a class took the responsibility and decided to fund raise and actually make LED lights to send to the Dominican. A big part in this was our contact in…

How do cells mutliply

This unit we have learned about mitosis and meiosis, as well as sexual and asexual reproduction. The basic fundamental of this topic is that cells produce cells, and the steps on how cells multiply. First I will talk about the cell cycle, and mitosis. In the Cell Cycle there are three different stages, Interphase, Mitosis and Cytokenisis. In mitosis, there are four stages; prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. In Interphase, the chromosomes duplicate themselves to create strands of identical  sister chromatids. Protein synthesis also occurs.…

First People’s Principle of Learning

The first people’s principle of learning demonstrates the most important aspects that me as a student strives to do, not just in science but in all my classes. In my opinion these principles create a learning environment that make you engage, and take learning to a different level of creativity and real life experiences and memories that help create who you are when you are learning. Bellow is a picture of all the First People’s Principles of Learning. Bellow is a video about the principles…
