I already knew what was there as it has to be accessible for swimming, but it’s still scary that anyone can see my age and what club I swim for along with my times.

How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?

my  digital footprint can affect future job opportunities like job interviews, my potential boss can look into my digital back ground and if there is a post that is irresponsible or a post that spreads negativity that background could keep me from potentially getting hired. Another example could be affected relationships, in the future if a coworker or acquaintance decides to look you up to see what your have in common and some old posts that you shared when you where younger that has negative content they might not want to be around you.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

I can keep my foot print appropriate by thinking before I post. I have to make sure what I’m posting won’t seriously affect some one in a negative way. second thing I can do is limit the personal information I share on the intranet to keep me safe. third thing I can do is understand that every search, post ,and comment I share on the intranet is accessible to people.

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students?

I learnt that your posts, comments , and searches won’t just disappear once deleted they will stay there for ever. I think everyone should consider the affects of online comments and posts and how they hurt other people. people should always think before they post.
