What is DNA and What Does it do?
DNA is a molecule that is a double helix that holds your code for your genes. Everyone has different and unique DNA. It is like the instructions for the proteins that our bodies need to function.DNA’s main job is to store the cells information.
How does DNA copy itself?
DNA copies itself easily. It is always dividing and when the double helix divides, it unzips with the help of an enzyme. The DNA copies itself easily because there are parts of the DNA called nitrogenous bases. New bases will find pairs with the original bases. The four different nitrogen bases are called adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. So when the double helix divides, when there is adenine (A), there is a thymine (T) on the other side. When there is a guanine (G) there is a cytosine (C). identical DNA molecules then form.
Great work posting a picture of your edible DNA with what DNA is and what DNA does. You included a complete explanation of how DNA copies itself in your own words. Good job!
