- Pulse Wave: is a non repeating wave causing only a single disturbance
2) longitudinal wave : part of the spring is compressed and then released . Disturbance is in the same direction as the direction of travel
3) periodic waves: waves recurring at regular intervals in which it requires regularly repeating disturbances
4) transverse wave: is a wave in which the spring is pulled sideways . The disturbance is at a right angle to the direction that the wave will travel which is across.
