This week in math we talked about the tree ways to solve quadradic equations. The way that I thought was the most interesting was the third way, which is where we are have a formula, and we just fill in the numbers, but to do this the equation must equal zero.

The formula that is used for this way of solving equations is:

X = -b ± √b^2 – 4ac / 2a

For example if you were given a question like x^2 – 6x + 4 = 0, you would take the formula and fill in the numbers, in the a’s place you would put 1, in the b’s place you would put a -6, and in c’s place you would put 4. From there you would use simple BEDMAS to find the solution. The picture bellow is of the question:
