WEEK 12. solving systems algebraically

y=x^3 + 2x^2 + 3x +2

y=x(x+3)^2

You should first simplify each equation then put them in front of each other.

y=x(x^2+6x+9)

y=x^3+6x^2+9x

x^3+6x^2+9x=x^3+2x^2+3x+2

4x^2+6x+2=0

Now you can use factoring to solve the equation:

(2x+1)(2x+2)=0

x_1=-1/2 x_2=-1
