For equation $y=(x+3)^2 -4$ determine:

the x and y intercepts

In this cases you should first put 0 instead of y and x, then solve the equation.

$0=(x+3)^2 -4$

$4=(x+3)^2$

$2=+-(x+3)$

$x_1=-1$

$x_2=-5$

So here x intercepts are -5 and -1

$y=(0+3)^2 -4$ $y=5$

so y intercepts is 5
