I picked these resources because I think they display Canada correctly in a positive way.  The rainbow maple leaf flag shows the diversity, equality, and freedom us Canadian’s have.  Each individual is allowed to have their own beliefs and opinions and live freely.  I decided on Terry Fox’s story because it shows the strength, perseverance, and determination us Canadian’s also have.  It also shows how selfless we are.  Terry Fox was running to donate and after he passed we still kept that alive. We run every year and keep the tradition going following donations.  A time in Canada’s history that wouldn’t reflect these resources that I’ve picked would be 1942, internment of Japanese Canadians.  Some 22,000 Canadian citizens and residents were taken from their homes.  This does not represent the reputation Canada has today or how Canadian’s act.  During this time in 1942 some Canadian’s did not have freedom and there was no equality.  But thankfully that has changed and we now live in a free, equal, accepting, multicultural country.
