I think that artists and writers are just as important to society as scientists and engineers because both make important contributions to society as a whole scientists, can discover new ways to make life easier such as curing diseases or with the manipulation of genetics, engineers experiment with new ideas that can result new contraptions or perhaps a different easier way to obtain something, writers can share and spread different radical ideas that before never would have been considered through their stories, artists can contribute as well through their artwork they share perhaps their emotions on something and they can spread new views through their depictions.

Throughout history many scientists and engineers discovered breakthrough ideas that pushed our civilization ahead but many writers have made big impacts as well  such as Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels who had new radical ideas about how governments should operate and how the working class should be treated.
