1)How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

Your digital footprint can affect your future by posting bad information on social media and making inappropriate comments about someone’s posts. When you are at work, if your boss finds out that you have posted inappropriate photos or posted some bad information at work, it may result in you not getting an interview, not getting a good position, or even being fired.

In terms of academics, if your school finds that your posts are inappropriate, then the school may be expelled, but if the school does not take any action or reaction, then you will become the object of rejection or ridicule by your classmates. Also, cases of cyberbullying will be bullied online. The messages contain some untrue rumors and cyberbullying may affect a person’s life.

2) Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

  1. Use an identity protection service
  2. Double-check your privacy settings, create strong, memorable passwords.
  3. check your phone regularly, which can prevent bad people from stealing your secrecy.
  4. You must double-check your posts for inappropriate content.Black Android Smartphone on Top of White BookBrown Wooden Letter B Letter

3)What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I learned that I must think carefully when I am using social media, so there won’t be anyone finding anything inappropriate in my digital footprint for the future. And I need to always rethink what I post because I know it will affect my future and just because I delete something doesn’t mean it’s always gone forever. If I see other students post something inappropriate, I will try to remember or tell them as soon as I can. Also, I will try my best to tell my friend that a lot of people can do stuff to your account, and if you don’t have your account private, then many problems can occur.
