This poem has a lot of imagery and personification that create vivid pictures and movements along with visuals of strong waves and currents under the water. The currents that tug her from under the water represents the pain under her skin; whats on the inside of her body. “… made chalk tracings around her shape.” This quote from the poem helps you to see the tracings being drawn. This poem tells a story that’s full of mystery and sadness. The Tide is talking about a girl who goes missing and it eventually comes to an end in death. The Tide has three stanza’s each ranging from 3-4 lines each. This poem is about a girl who runs away/ gets lost and, possibly the person who is telling the poem knows the girl, but it results in the girls passing. The tenderness tale of the Tide. Sad and confusing, yet gloomy and suspenseful.
Good written poetry analysis, it was well written, unfortunately I was unable to see the PowerPoint.
I really like the vivid language you used in this paragraph to give a better meaning of the poem and give more emotion. This poem is a poem i would read, by the way you explained it in this paragraph gave me a picture of of the setting good job 🙂
