INNOVATION BLOG POST

Core Competency: My creative thinking skills have come a long way since the beginning of the year. Before I had only felt comfortable with the things I understood and wasn’t sure about trying new things, but while we were working on our project my group found different ways of seeing things and that helped me to try different designs or different ways of building it. I have also learned a bit more about how to develop criteria for evaluating design options like I said before we tried different way of designs that would fit with the needs of preventing people from seeing their phone screens. I have been able to monitor my progress and adjust my actions accordingly. For example finding a problem in our innovation and learning how to fix it and helping myself and others to understand how. I have also gotten better making choices that help me create my intended impact on the audience and/or situation, I worked hard and tried to keep my mind focused on the things that needed to be done and I learned to make the better choice when it came to impacting the audience.
Collaboration Reflection: I think my group worked really hard on this project. We came up with different ideas that sounded good and then we talked about it and narrowed down to the one we presented. We worked really well together using good communication skills and if we had any little problems we would just talk them through until it got figured out. We used good thinking skills on how to make our innovation better and we tried to dream as big as possible. In the end our innovation project “phone alert” turned out really well and I am very proud of our process.
Experience Debrief: In this project I liked how each group had to find a problem and then work on a device that would help fix that. I thought everyone did a good job on finding those problems and how creative everyone was in making something that could fix that. I liked how my group worked well together and how are final presentation/innovation turned out. There wasn’t anything that I disliked about this project. We had enough time to work on it in class, the teacher were very helpful by answering questions and helping with circuitry. It was a really fun way to learn about collaboration. The only thing I would do differently would be to distribute the jobs a little better before hand so people don’t decide to do them last minute when we realize we needed to get this done. So that’s probably what I would tell my group if I could send my group a message, but overall I think we worked really well and there wasn’t anything I would change about our innovation.
