Week 2 – Math 11

This week in math 11 we learned about diverging and converging geometric sequences. When determining whether or not a sequence is diverging or converging you will look at the r value, if this r value is greater than 1 (r > 1) or if its less than -1 (r <-1) then that means its diverging. Diverging sequences grow at a fast rate and con sometimes when graphed look like a straight up and down line. To determine whether or not a sequence is converging you will again look at the r value but this time look r is greater than -1 but less than 1 (-1 < r < 1), if this is true that means the sequence is converging. Converging sequences decrease at a fast  rate when graphed.
