Tim Horton’s Speech

Tim Hortons

Pots brewing, smoke steaming. “Welcome to Tim Hortons, how can I help you “

Must grab a muffin to bring to the drive through

On the way back, I just had to, so I asked for your name

Oh, how lame, but little did I know it would change this whole game

Of life “can I be your wife”. WOOOAH too soon! Not yet you goon

Stop talking to yourself and do something

Insta and snap were exchanged

And a couple days later a streak was born, Phone blowing up with notifications

21 questions? Check !

Favourite colour? Red

Personal background? Clean!!

Is this basically an interview? No, I just really want to get to know you

Christmas and New Years were spent sending texts. What’s next?

My resolution for new years was to steal your heart

That’s probably the hardest part

6 months later you were mine, finally asking if I would be your girlfriend

Bingo! It worked! How often does that happen?

Am I in the movies?

I don’t hear the live audience clappin’

Now finally it’s been 3 years.

3 years of craziness intertwined with happiness

The start was filled with animals dug in my stomach

Each day kept getting better and better, it’s crazy how time flies

You’re not like most guys

Calls would extend until 4am. Without trying, talking about who knows what

The bus became one of the wonders of the world as I found it to be our meeting ground.

Safe and sound

I was careful what to say because any day it could change the way you see me

But of course, as time flew, so does my knowledge of you

I learned I could say whatever I wanted because you are the kindest, most non-judgemental person I’ve ever met, I bet

I’m sorry that sometimes your bank goes down the drain, I hope it doesn’t cause you pain, and you should know that you’re the only one that keeps me sane

Every month when the time comes, and the beast is unleashed, you show just how sweet you can be

As you try your best to “NOT GET SCREAMED”, and you always come through with the necessities and candies

These 3 years have been filled with amazing memories, stories, and lessons; and I pray we don’t lose our essence. Hey, we’ve been through a couple rough times too, but we always stay true. Who would’ve thought this this whole thing was made possible because of a Tim Horton’s drive through.

Scars Tell Your Story

The topic of this article really interested me, because scars are typically associated with bad experiences. The article really shed a light that the best memories/stories can be shared because of the event that caused your scars. People typically tend to associate pain and struggle with scars, as appose to experiences; myself being one of those people. Upon reflection, I’ve come to realize that scars are not something to be ashamed of, and they have helped shape me into the person I am today. My eyes have really opened to the idea of thinking positively about my many, many scars. I enjoyed the author’s style of writing because he was not fixated on one incident, or even just himself. He told stories about other people and helped teach a lesson with each story he told, it was extremely insightful. I made a connection to videos that I have seen online, where celebrities share their scars and end up in tears because they view themselves as “ugly”. Many celebrities have very large surgical scars, and feel as if they have been defeated; rather than feeling like a survivor. This article has really helped change my view of scars, and the stories associated with them.

Let’s Make Memories

The thing that interested me most about this article was how they put everything in perspective for me. The article reveals how materialistic humans are. We are so eager to get our hands on materialistic things as quickly as possible, that we don’t think about if we actually want it or if it will bring us joy. When we buy materialistic items we lose interest in it very quickly, after a month we don’t care about it anymore. However, vacations we talk about for years to come. I found it extremely interesting about the authors styling of writing was that it was very loose. There were no huge words, hard to understand sentences, or literary devices that some people would not be able to understand. This article was made for everyone, and anyone who reads it will clearly be able to understand it’s message and importance. This article made me start thinking about all the material items I have that made me happy at one point, but after a while started disliking. It made me really cherish the concerts, vacations, and food runs I’ve gone on with loved ones. Overall this article has taught me an important life lesson and I will try to start building more meaningful experiences.
