This ad is an ad for Pepsi Next. It was released in the October of 2012, and the product being sold is the soft drink “Pepsi Next”. The intended audience for this ad is anybody that is able to drink liquid or anybody that has at least a loonie. Possibly even gravitating towards teens or people who don’t have a lot of time in life to just sit down and have a can of Pepsi. You could also argue that this ad is for lazy people that don’t want to do their house work. One of the visual techniques in this ad is the bright blue Pepsi can, and the darker blue background behind it. There is also giant yellow block letters saying “the extra hour”, so they are really trying to push the fact that they will give you an extra hour in your day to just sit down and drink a can of Pepsi. The ad uses logos, because it is claiming to have 60% less sugar, which will make it healthier for you to drink. Therefor you can drink more of it. It also says “real cola taste” meaning that any other drink you drink isn’t the real thing and you can only find it in Pepsi. The persuasive techniques used in this ad were transfer, and bribery. I chose transfer, because they are promoting the fact of 60% less sugar, claiming it is healthier for you, making you feel better about your life choices. I chose bribery, because of the fact that they say that if you buy their drink, they will do your chores for a whole hour. Specifically so you have time to sit down and drink their drink.
