What are some things that were challenging?

During this assignment, I learned how to use the Cricut heat press and heat transfer vinyl to create simple cutouts for fabric, and also worked on photo selecting skills. I used the photo selecting skills when choosing the image by what could be a very defined outline, the rose, and still give the look I was going for. I believe that the Cricut skills can be easily applied in personal projects that I take on, another gift for someone or for making cards for events.  Cricut is also very useful in school projects if I want to make some type of cutout for a poster.

What are some things that worked well?

Some things that worked out well was the image, originally I did not use an image that worked very well and decided against it before Cricuting it. I then decided on a more rudimentary figure image that could easily be seen with limited details. I do realize that the Cricut can do more complex cuts but I liked the simplicity of what I made. The color of HTV was really outstanding and popped in comparison to the white pillowcase.

What did you learn? How can you apply this?

I learned that the heat press needs to be applied evenly and to always move it up and down the entire length of the vinyl to ensure all areas are pressed and stuck on equally. This can be applied to other projects in the future where I use HTV again.
