Social Media Team

Responsible for; advertising, sharing, and distributing information related to Riverside.

Impact

How can this project impact our school and community? What can be done to increase the impact of this idea?

  • A sense of belonging, pride, inspiration
  • Recognition for those who have done something influential/impactful
  • Strong sense of community and support
  • Promotion, sharing with other students
  • Pride in peers

Desirability

Is this project needed? How can we adapt it to the needs of our school to make it desirable?

  • Using Tech, preparing for the future
  • Needed to keep students up to date with events and news
  • More interaction with followers
  • Interactive concept
  • Casual, not nearly as formal as the school website

Integrability

How can this project be integrated into our school? How can we keep it from being seen as an “add-on” or “waste of time”?

  • Use it regularly but not spam excessive and useless information
  • Include more student content instead of just all ads for clubs and fundraisers
  • Help students become knowledgeable of activities and programs going on around the school
  • Current, up to date information

Feasibility/Viability

What would you change to make this idea more feasible/viable/successful? What needs to happen?

  • Throwback Teacher Thursday (need teachers to send in pictures, someone to start it then pass it on, format, highlight and caption ideas, poll, prizes)
  • This would allow for students to become more immersed in the feed and comment on posts for possible prizes.
Teacher Throwback Thursday

Every Thursday an appointed member of the Social Media team receives a photo of a staff member at Riverside from when they were younger, posting this photo on the @rapidevent Instagram with a “guess what teacher this is?” caption and a related hint. Another tactic would be to put emphasis on the prizes to get the audience even more enthusiastic. Maybe target teachers that teach a variety of grade levels as well as they would be more well known by all Riverside attendees participating.

Lets Think
What problems might we run into?

We may run into problems with a lack of participation, there may be a tie if we are not immediately aware who stated the correct answer first, or people may not have any background or know about the teacher so they wouldn’t be able to guess.

What skills do we need to complete this project? How can we attain these skills?

We need some basic knowledge on how to use Instagram as well as communication with the teacher.
